Laser Skin Resurfacing, Dermabrasion or Chemical Peels?

While laser skin resurfacing provides results that are similar to those attained through dermabrasion and chemical peels, the process is vastly different. Dermabrasion, which is considered a surgical procedure, utilizes a rotating brush to sand off the top layers of skin; it is often used to treat raised scar tissue. Chemical peels are also used to remove the top layers of skin, but they work by dissolving skin with a chemical solution. In many ways, laser skin resurfacing is more versatile and less invasive than dermabrasion and chemical peels. However, both dermabrasion and chemical peels have their place, and you should discuss the benefits and drawbacks of all three procedures before making your final decision.
